"There is a small, humble Presbyterian church in the inner-city of Charlotte, North Carolina in which the pews are unpadded, the sanctuary un-air conditioned, and the piano barely in tune.  Just across the street is Piedmont Courts, an overwhelmingly African American community and one of the poorest housing projects in the city... During the week, the church becomes a center for numerous neighborhood programs that serve Piedmont Courts and bring in volunteers from throughout Charlotte."

Seigle Avenue Presbyterian Church established Seigle Avenue Partners in November 1999.  The Church, with its diverse congregation from across Charlotte and the Belmont/Piedmont Court Community, has ministered to the needs of its neighborhood for generations.  We will build on the church's twenty-year experience providing after-school care to neighborhood children and follow the tradition of successful programs nurtured by the church, including the Jacob's Ladder Job Center and the Seigle Avenue Preschool Cooperative.
